The Whisper generators produce 3 phase AC which is at a high voltage. This reduces the need for heavy gauge feed wire from the generator. So you have three wires going from the wind generator to the controller and the controller can be set to charge whatever voltage your battery system requires
The new Whisper 100, 200 and 500 series from Southwest Windpower have been updated with new features and an impressive five-year warranty.
New Whisper controller with a built in dump load insures safe operation of the wind turbine when the batteries are charged
Side-furling angle-governor protects the turbine in high winds by turning the alternator and blades out of the wind, reducing turbine exposure. Other turbines can lose as much as 80% of their output when furled and the angle-governor allows the Whisper to achieve maximum output in any wind.
Whisper 100 and Whisper 200
The Whisper 100 is designed to work in medium to high wind speed averages of 12 mph, 5.4 m/s, and greater. It provides 100+ kwh per month, 3.4 kwh per day in a 12 mph average wind. Similarly, the Whisper 200 is designed to work in medium to high wind speed averages of 12 mph, 5.4 m/s, and greater. It provides 200+ kwh per month, 3.4 kwh per day in a 12 mph average wind.
Both are easy to install, even for the novice user.
Whisper 500
The Whisper 500 can produce enough power for an entire home. Assuming a 12 mph (5.4 m/s) wind, the Whisper 500 can produce up to 500 kwh per month.
Installation of the Whisper 500 requires concrete foundations and sometimes the use of a crane to lift the turbine into place.
