Sunny Boy Grid-Tie Inverters
The SMA America Sunny Boy inverters are some of the most widely used PV
inverters in the world. The inverter sizes range from 700 watts to 7000
watts, making them suitable for a wide range of applications from small
residential PV applications to large 3-phase industrial systems.
All Sunny Boy inverters come with built-in LCD digital monitors to show
instantaneous power output, energy produced during the current day and total
energy produced since installation.
 SMA
now has a new line of inverters designed to meet the new IEEE 1547
requirements, the SB5000US, SB6000US and the SB7000US.
The SB6000US and SB7000US are also compatible with SMA's new Sunny Tower.
Increased efficiency means better performance and shorter payback periods.
All three models are field-configurable for positive ground systems making
them more versatile.

The SB5000, SB6000 and SB7000 can be used in 208,
240 and 277 VAC applications.
SMA America offers a wide range of optional accessories for
communications and monitoring of the PV system. The SB3000 and
SB4000 come with a DC disconnect switch and the SB500,
SB6000 and SB7000 come with an AC/DC disconnect switch, each with
an integrated fused series string combiner that connects to the bottom of
the inverter. The disconnect switches are housed in a NEMA 3R enclosure. All
electronic components are in a sealed compartment.
 The
SB1800U is a rock solid inverter for PV installations near 2KW. The SB1800U is also great for commercial or industrial installations with 208V, line to line, 120V line to neutral, three phase power. Just like every other Sunny Boy inverter, the SB1800U comes configurable for all of the various communications options that are available from SMA.
The SB700U and SB1800U have 120VAC output. The SB3000
and SB4000 are auto-sensing for use on 240 VAC and 208 VAC
applications.
