OutBack MX60 MPPT
Charge Controller

Rated for up to 60 amps of DC output, the Outback MX60 charge controller can be used with battery systems from 12 to 48 VDC with PV open circuit voltage as high as 140 VDC or 125 VDC Open Circuit Voltage. The MX 60 is by far the most intelligent controller available.

The Outback MX60's setpoints are adjustable to allow it to be used with most battery types. In addition, the MX60 allows you to use a higher output voltage PV array with a lower voltage battery -- e.g., charging a 12 or 24 VDC battery with a 48 VDC photovoltaic array. This has the benefit of reducing wire size and power loss from the PV panels to the battery/inverter location to help maximize the performance of your solar PV system.  The Maximum Power Point Tracking MPPT, also greatly improves on the efficiency of your system. by changing the relationship of the current to the voltage depending on the charge of the battery and the amount of power available from the panels.

The Outback MX60 comes with an easy to understand and program LCD display to show the PV system's operation.   It also has an auxiliary 12 volt output that can be used for a variety of purposes, including high and low voltage disconnects and turning on night lights.

The Outback MX60 can be optionally connected to the Outback MATE system controller and display to allow for monitoring of up to 8 MX60 controllers from a distant location of up to 300 feet.

The Outback MATE includes an optoisolated RS232 port for connection to a PC computer for easy data logging and PV system monitoring.

The MX60 can be used as a load control or as a diversion control for wind or hydroelectric systems.
